Academic Council

 Charter | Documents | Membership | Meeting Minutes

Primary function: Serve as the primary council body in the College’s Employee Involvement System to consider issues related to Teaching and Learning.

Specific functions:

• Elects steering committee to meet quarterly with Faculty Forum steering committee to address common agenda issues.
• Considers issues and recommendations from the Outcomes Assessment Committee.
• Considers issues and recommendations from the Learning Communities Steering Panel.
• Reviews all curriculum procedures and recommends updates to Vice President of Learning and Academic Affairs.
• Identifies important issues related to teaching and learning and makes recommendations to the Vice President of Learning and Academic Affairs.
• Creates ad-hoc charter groups to explore key issues or focus on strategic initiatives related to teaching and learning.

Reports to: Vice President of Learning and Academic Affairs

Chair: Faculty member elected annually by Academic Council membership
