 Timothy Schaffert

Timothy Schaffert is the author of three novels; his work has been a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers selection, a Book Sense pick by the American Booksellers Association, and a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice. He is the director of two literary nonprofits: the (downtown) Omaha Lit Fest, and UNL's Nebraska Summer Writers Conference.

 James Reed

Stories by James Reed recently have appeared in The Gettysburg Review, Dogwood, and Quick Fiction as well as the anthology Tribute to Orpheus (Kearney Street Books 2007).  A four-time finalist for the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction, he was awarded the Charles B. Wood Award for Distinguished Writing from Carolina Quarterly, an Individual Artist Fellowship Master Award in Literature from the Nebraska Arts Council, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.

 Mary Helen Stefaniak

Mary Helen Stefaniak writes fiction, essays, and radio commentaries. Her novel, The Turk  and My Mother (W. W. Norton & Co.), won the 2005 John Gardner Fiction Award and has been published in several languages.  Self Storage and Other Stories (New Rivers Press) received the Wisconsin Library Association Banta Award. She teaches at Creighton University.

John Price

John T. Price is the author of the memoirs Man Killed by Pheasant and Other Kinships  and Not Just Any Land: A Personal and Literary Journey into the American Grasslands.  A recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and other recognitions, his nonfiction writing about nature, family, and spirit has appeared in many publications including Orion, The Christian Science Monitor, Creative Nonfiction, Isotope, and Best Spiritual Writing 2000.
